How to get
to Hotel Weissenstein

Car

Drive from Solothurn to Oberdorf, and from there, take the Weissenstein Pass to Hotel Weissenstein. The Weissenstein Pass is one of the steepest passes in Switzerland with gradients of up to 22%.

There are plenty of paid parking spaces available for hotel guests in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. The front of the hotel can be accessed for loading and unloading, as well as by buses (up to 12 m in length).

The road is closed to private vehicles on Sundays and public holidays from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, as well as during the winter months.

Train & cable car

If travelling by public transport, take the regional train from Solothurn station towards Moutier to Oberdorf. The journey takes around 15 minutes.

The valley station of the Weissenstein cable car is located very close to the station. You will enjoy unparalleled views of the town of Solothurn and the Swiss Plateau during the 10-minute cable car ride.

On foot or by bike

Those who like a bit of action can also make the ascent on foot or by bike. The nature trails lead you through the woods, not far from the pass, and grant singular views of the Swiss Plateau. Dotted with rocks and roots, the forest trails are untouched and therefore suited to experienced hikers with a good level of fitness.
